The 15th All American Council of The Orthodox Church in America will take place from November 10th to 13th in Pittsburgh, PA. More information about the Council can be found at this link: http://oca15aac.wordpress.com/
In preparation for this important Council, the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania will hold an extraordinary Diocesan Assembly and will also host one of the many Town Hall Meetings that are being planned. In addition, His Grace, Bishop Tikhon, has appointed a Resolutions Committee in preparation for the upcoming Council.
EXTRAORDINARY ASSEMBLY
As was decided at the 2007 Diocesan Assembly in Bethlehem, an extraordinary Diocesan Assembly will be held at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Philadelphia for the purpose of considering resolutions from our Diocese to be presented for the All American Council. The date for this Extraordinary Assembly has been set for Saturday, August 9, 2008 and more information concerning this will be forthcoming.
RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE
The Preconciliar Commission of the OCA has published Guidelines for submission of resolutions to be presented at the AAC and for resolutions for Statute Changes (http://www.oca.org/PDF/15thAAC/15th-aac-resolutions-procedures.pdf). At the May 29th Diocesan Council Meeting, His Grace appointed a Resolutions Committee consisting of the following persons:

This committee will accept resolution proposals from parishes, deaneries and institutions within the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania at the following email address: dioc.eastern.pa@gmail.com until Friday, July 25. When all resolutions have been compiled, the Resolutions Committee will meet on Friday, August 1 to review and edit them for presentation at the Special Diocesan Assembly on August 9. All resolutions approved by the resolutions committee will be published on the Diocesan website for review before the Assembly.
TOWN HALL MEETING
The Holy Synod of Bishops has also approved the Preconciliar Commission’s proposal for the holding of Town Hall Meetings http://www.oca.org/News.asp?ID=1556&SID=19. A Town Hall Meeting for this region will be held at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Bethlehem on Saturday, July 19. His Grace Bishop Tikhon will be present at this meeting which will be open to all Orthodox Clergy and Faithful in the Tri-state area.
