Car blessing - 07/20/10
For the second year, the Christ the Saviour parish community blessed vehicles (and other
forms of transportation - bikes, scooters, etc.) on the Sunday closest
to the feast of St. Elijah (celebrated July 20th). This annual event is a
reminder to us to ask God's blessing on every aspect of our lives, but
also to intercede with St. Elijah to grant us his disposition of
fearless defense of God in spite of a world which often rejects His
Gospel. "May He who willed to journey into Egypt with Joseph His foster
father, and Mary, His most-pure Virgin Mother" also travel with us, all
the days of our life!
