The clergy of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania were graciously hosted by the V. Rev. Stephen Vernak at Christ the Saviour for Clergy Continuing Education. The clergy watched the movie "Spotlight," which documents the investigation that exposed clergy sexual misconduct in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boston and the issues of collusion and complicity that existed. The V. Rev. Fr. Martin Browne facilitated discussion around the plight of the various victims of sexual abuse and the systemic issues surrounding it. The clergy engaged in a very productive conversation on the importance of not simply protecting the Church from financial consequences, but more importantly, protecting the innocence of our youth and faithful.
