On Thursday, September 28, members of the Diocesan Council met at the Diocesan Center in South Canaan. The meeting was well attended, and many important issues facing the Diocese were discussed. Before lunch, the council travelled to the St. Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery Church for a Panikhida service for Sonya Perich. During a working lunch, the council welcomed seminarians.
The Council discussed many important issues including the status of the Diocesan Center property, the devastation from Natural Disaster in Mexico and Puerto Rico, and the upcoming All American Council. At the end of the meeting the council voted to make their usual charity donation to aid for the victims in Mexico and Puerto Rico. Minutes from the meeting will be posted when they are available. The council has scheduled their next meeting for November 9.
