Car blessing in Harrisburg - 07/19/09
On Sunday, July 19th at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the community at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church participated in a blessing of their vehicles and "other" modes of transportation in anticipation of the feast of the Great Prophet Elijah and his fiery chariot (Feast Day July 20, see also 2 Kings 2:11). We hope to make this an annual event, in which we might continue to ask Him to travel with us, as He once accompanied Luke and Cleopos and the road to Emmaus.
