St. Tikhon's Monastery celebrates the feast day of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk - 08/13/09
On this day, August 13th, the Brotherhood of the Monastery of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk celebrated the feast of it's patron. His Grace, Bishop Tikhon, celebrated the liturgy along with several priests from the diocese. The many faithful from surrounding parishes and beyond were present to take part in this feast day. We were blessed to have with us nuns from Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Elwood City and Holy Myrrhbearers Monastery in Otego, NY. It was a joyful occasion which included a meal prepared by the brotherhood of St. Tikhon's Monastery. The meal was concluded with a short talk on the life of St. Tikhon by monastery superior, Father Sergius, and a few words by Vladyka.
