On Thursday, December 25, 2025, the parishes of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania celebrated the Feast of the Nativity According to the Flesh of Our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ. Divine Liturgies and festal services were celebrated throughout the Diocese, as clergy and faithful gathered in prayer and thanksgiving to glorify the birth of Christ and to proclaim the joy of the Incarnation.
Troparion:
Thy Nativity, O Christ our God, has shone to the world the light of wisdom! For by it, those who worshipped the stars, were taught by a star to adore Thee, the Sun of Righteousness, and to know Thee, the Orient from on high. O Lord, glory to Thee!
Kontakion:
Today the Virgin gives birth to the Transcendent One, and the earth offers a cave to the Unapproachable One. Angels with shepherds glorify Him; The Wise Men journey with the star, since for our sake the eternal God was born as a little Child.
Magnification:
We magnify! We magnify Thee, O Christ, the Giver of Life, Who for our sakes, now art born in the flesh of the Virgin Mary, unwedded and most pure!
