BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Clergy, Matushki and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations to Priest Michael Shepherd, Rector of St. Michael's Church in Old Forge, PA, on the occasion of his 8th anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood.
Father Michael was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Saturday, May 26, 2018, Memorial Saturday, by the laying on of hands of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon [Mollard], Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, at St. Tikhon's Monastery in South Canaan, PA. A graduate of Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Father Michael faithfully served for 22 years in the United States Army before answering the call to ordained ministry and enrolling at St. Tikhon’s Theological Seminary, from which he graduated in 2020 with a Master of Divinity degree.
Throughout his years of military and priestly service, Father Michael has dedicated himself to serving others through both his vocation and ministry. In his priestly service, he continues to minister to the faithful through the liturgical and pastoral life of the Church.
We, as a Diocese, pray that God will grant Priest Michael, Matushka Emilia, and their family many years. Axios!
