Holy Apostles Orthodox Church Celebrates First Services in New Building - 10/01/2016

On Saturday & Sunday, October 1 &2, Holy Apostles Mission in Mechanicsburg, celebrated the first service in their newly constructed “phase 1” multipurpose building. After 3 years of planning, 129 clergy and faithful from the local Orthodox Church gathered with His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, and Archpriest Timothy Hojnicki, Rector, for a Moliben of Thanksgiving with the blessing of the Building, followed by the first Great Vespers Service.  Also serving were Archpriests, Daniel Ressetar, Nicholas Molodyko-Harris, Stephen Vernak and Priest Christopher Rocknage (Serbian Patriarchate), and parish Deacon Seraphim Reynolds and Deacon Matthew Joyner of St. Tikhon’s Seminary.

On Sunday Morning, Fr. Timothy and Fr. Nicholas celebrated the First Divine Liturgy with Dn. Seraphim, with a record crowd of 141 faithful gathered to celebrate this joy.

The Clergy and Faithful of Holy Apostles are thankful to Almighty God for this latest blessing bestowed upon them, and for the support and prayers of so many of the faithful through this building process.

Holy Apostles Mission was founded in 2004 with 22 souls present at the first liturgy. Since that time they have rented space in a warehouse and bought a condo suite that had served them until the completion of their Hall/Church. Future plans are to build a proper temple next door, connect the two and convert the existing structure into a full hall. May God hasten this to fruition!
