On Saturday, May 13, 2017 following Vespers, over a dozen parishioners from the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church had the chance to hear Dr. Maria C. Khoury, Ed. D. speak on her Orthodox Christian children's book series "Christina Goes...", which promotes ancient Christian values, centuries-old traditions, and spiritual growth. Dr. Khoury also shared with us her personal life experiences living in the West Bank, the Palestinian Occupied Territories to bring greater awareness how conditions are for Christians and Palestinians in the area.  She spoke from the perspective of being a woman, a mother, an Orthodox Christian, and community activist.  After her presentation, Dr. Khoury was kind enough to sign her books for those in attendance.
