St. Herman Orthodox Church Celebrates Radonitsa – Day of Rejoicing - 05/09/2021

Archpriest John Perich (Pastor) blessed graves of the departed with the faithful of St. Herman Orthodox Church (Glen Mills, PA) following Paschal Liturgy on St. Thomas Sunday, May 9, 2021, placing a pussywillow on each grave and blessing with Holy Water.

On Tuesday of Saint Thomas week we remember those Orthodox Christians from all ages who have died in the faith, and in the hope of the resurrection. This day, known since early times as the “Day of Rejoicing,” is a traditional time to visit the graves of loved ones and offer prayers and services for their repose. In many places today, this celebration occurs on the Sunday after Holy Pascha [Saint Thomas Sunday].

Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
