Holy Ascension Church Welcomes Archbishop Mark - 04/02/2023

“Blessed is he that cometh in the Name of the Lord.” (Ps 117)

His Eminence, MARK, Archbishop of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania visited Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Frackville, PA, over the past weekend. His Eminence attended Great Vespers on Saturday evening, Apr 1, and He celebrated Hierarchical Liturgy on Sunday morning, Apr 2, 2023. Parish rector, priest Vjekoslav J., together with priest Joseph Ramishvili, from Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church in Minersville, and protodeacon Peter Skoog, from Holy Trinity Church in Pottstown, concelebrated.
Holy Ascension Church had great honor and joy to host the faithful from Ss. Peter and Paul’s Church, in Minersville, and St. Mary’s Church, in St. Clair, for this occasion. We were also glad to have with us reader Nicholas Hojnicki and his brother Elijah, from Holy Apostles Church, in Mechanicsburg, to help us with the service.
Frackville parish is very grateful to all those who worked hard to make this festival possible - both to our parishioners, choir members, altar servers, parish council, etc., as well as to the parishioners of our two sister parishes who labored and actively participated in this event.
Following the Liturgy all that were present took part in fellowship and agape meal in the parish hall. We all had opportunity to break the bread together, eat together, get to know each other better - simply to spend time together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
