Holy Trinity visited by His Eminence, Archbishop Mark - 04/21/2024

On Sunday, April 21, the Fifth Sunday of Great Lent, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania presided over the services at Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

With recent events and construction, the communities of Holy Trinity and Holy Resurrection have been combining services at Holy Trinity. During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence elevated Priests Innocent and Gregory to the rank of Archpriest. Axios!

Serving with His Eminence were the newly-elevated Archpriest Innocent Neal, Rector of Holy Trinity Church, and the newly-elevated Archpriest Gregory White, Dean of Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Also serving were Protodeacon Sergei Kapral, attached to Holy Resurrection Cathedral, and Deacon Michael McCartney, attached to Holy Trinity Church.

In his homily, His Eminence emphasized the importance of using the remaining time of this Lenten season to create and maintain a relationship with God, cautioning against being drawn into the fleeting pleasures of this world.

A Lenten meal was held in the hall following the service. During the meal, A Pysanky workshop was had with the Holy Trinity Sunday School. With special guests of Gene Gingo and Bill (Vasyl) Gurka.

May God grant His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, Archpriests Innocent and Gregory, their families, and the faithful of Holy Trinity and Holy Resurrection Many Years!
