St. John the Baptist visits Veteran’s Center to break bread and offer fellowship - 12/20/14
On Saturday, December 20, 2014, the Sunday School of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church visited the Veteran’s Center just down the street from their parish to share a holiday meal and Orthodox fellowship. They brought a complete home-made ham dinner, presents, and many treats to share with the veterans. The center houses veterans who have fallen on hard times, and provides them with an apartment. The Sunday School spent over 2 hours with the vets, sharing delicious food, holiday cheer, and Orthodox Fellowship with their honored guests. Under the direction of Shirley Gingo and Michael Lukatchik, the Sunday School plans on making this a bi-annual event, visiting before Christmas and Easter and supporting our neighbors in need.
