St. John the Baptist Hosts Second Annual Community Nativity Concert - 12/18/16

On Sunday, December 18, 2016, following Divine Liturgy and Parish Coffee Hour, St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Edwardsville, PA hosted the Second Annual Community Nativity Concert. The concert was organized by Fr. George Volkovinsky, and has proven to be a colossal success. This year’s concert featured the choirs of St. John the Baptist singing many Nativity hymns n English and Slovanic, as well as a psalm in honor of the Jewish guests. The Polish National Catholic Church followed and sang songs in English and Polish. Dr. Edwards Memorial Congregational Church, new to the concert, sang two songs. The concert ended with the Immanuel Baptist Church inviting all Choir members to perform a variety of Nativity songs, culminating in the entire gathering singing “Let There be Peace on Earth.” Following the concert, all were invited to Repella Hall to share fellowship and refreshments. This tremendous event capped a very busy weekend of mission and fellowship for the Parish of St. John the Baptist, and certainly got everyone prepared for the Feast.
