Pan-Orthodox Blessing of the Schuykill River in Philadelphia - 01/22/17
The Philadelphia Brotherhood of Pan-Orthodox Christian clergy celebrated the Holy Feast of Epiphany with the Great Blessing of Waters, followed by the Blessing of the Schuykill River on Sunday afternoon, January 22, 2017 from one of the boat houses along Kelly Drive behind the Art Museum of Philadelphia. Even under cloudy skies and a misting of precipitation in the air, around 80 faithful Orthodox Christians representing close to a dozen Orthodox parishes from the Philadelphia area participate in this wonderful service.
