Christ the Saviour Welcomes His Eminence for Divine Liturgy and Ordinations - 12/17/17
On Sunday, December 17th the community of Christ the Saviour (Harrisburg, PA) welcomed His Eminence Archbishop Mark to celebrate the Sunday of the Holy Forefathers, and to set-aside three of our faithful for service to Christ's Holy Church. At the conclusion of the Hours, James Kushlan was tonsured a reader; and Rdrs. Peter (Scott) Staller and John Shingara were ordained as Subdeacons. During the Liturgy Subdeacon Peter (Scott) Staller was ordained to the Holy Diaconate - Axios! We ask God's blessing and "Many Years" upon our newly ordained, and their families. We give thanks to Almighty God for raising up these vocations to serve our parish home!
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy our parish also welcomed our "adopted" seminary family - Moses, Christy, Elias, Seraphim, & Symeon Locke from St. Tikhon Seminary. The Locke's are in their second year. Our parish and its various organizations fulfilled their Christmas Wish-List through a program organized by the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (FOCA). May God bless them and grant them many blessed years!
