St. John the Baptist Participates in Edwardsville Festival - 06/09/18

On June 8 and 9, members of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Edwardsville, PA participated in the 4th Annual Pierogie Festival in the downtown. St. John the Baptist has been an active participant in the festival since its’ inception in 2014.
This year the festival changed location, much closer to the church. The parish decided to serve cooked pierogies to visitors in Archmandrit Anthony Repella Hall, while greeting the public in their booth at the grounds of the Pierogie Festival. Hundreds of attendees visited the hall to sample the award winning pierogies and enjoy some Orthodox fellowship. At the booth, Fr. Michael and Matushka Sonya Evans, members of the Sunday School, and dedicated parishioners greeted many more during the course of the festival. Once again the festival was a smashing success for the Community of St. John the Baptist, which has added this special occasion to the many outreach programs they participate in, including the Memorial Day Service, Community Christmas concert, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for area veterans, and more.
