St. Michael's Visited by His Eminence, Archbishop Mark - 06/02/24
Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
On Sunday, June 2, the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, His Eminence, Archbishop Mark made an Archpastoral visit to St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Old Forge, PA.
Prior to the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence, Archbishop Mark tonsured Blaise Shepherd as a reader. May God grant him many years!
Serving with His Eminence was Priest Michael Shepherd, Rector of St. Michael's Church, along with the servers of the parish.
His Eminence offered the homily on the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman and emphasized how we must not let earthly things distract us from Christ. The importance of Christ being the only solution in life was greatly emphasized by Vladyka.
After the dismissal, during the announcements, His Eminence congratulated Priest Michael on the occasion of Fr. Michael’s 6th Anniversary of Ordination to the Holy Priesthood this past week! Axios! He also congratulated Priest Michael and Matushka Emilia on the occasion of their 27th wedding anniversary (6/3/97), along with other members of St. Michael's Parish who are celebrating various occasions.
Following the post-communion prayers, a meal was held in the church hall downstairs. At the meal, the parish presented His Eminence with an early birthday present.
May God grant His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, Priest Michael Shepherd and Matushka Emilia, the newly tonsured Reader Blaise, and the faithful of St. Michael's Parish many years!
