Archpastoral Visit • Wilmington, DE - 07/28/24
On Sunday, July 28, the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence, Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, presided over the services at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in Wilmington, DE.
Serving with His Eminence were Priest Silouan Burns, Rector of St. Michael's Church, and Deacon James Carpenter.
His Eminence offered the homily, speaking about the gospel reading, He capitalized that even the demons knew who Christ was. He reflected on whether, as Christians, we truly know who Christ is or if we take Him for granted.
During the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, His Eminence ordained Subdeacon Nicholas DiDonato to the Diaconate. Deacon Nicholas, having completed the Diaconal Vocations Program, will be trained and serve as the second deacon attached to St. Michael's Church. Axios!
Following the Liturgy, His Eminence offered words of encouragement to the newly ordained Deacon Nicholas and his family. A meal was held in the hall following the service.
May God grant His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, the newly-ordained Deacon Nicholas and his family, and the faithful of St. Michael's Church Many Years!
Glory to God for all things!
