Archpastoral Visit • Olyphant, PA - 08/18/24

On Sunday, August 18, the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence, Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, presided over the services at All Saints Orthodox Church in Olyphant, PA.

The community of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Olyphant, PA, joined the faithful of All Saints Church to celebrate the Divine Liturgy. Serving with His Eminence were Priest Paul Witek, Rector of All Saints Church, and Priest Nathan Clausson, Rector of St. Nicholas Church. Also serving were Deacon Paisios Daniels and altar servers from both parishes. The combined choir was led under the direction of Rdr. David Brzuchalski.

During the Little Entrance, His Eminence awarded Priest Paul Witek the right to wear the skufia. Axios!

In his homily, His Eminence emphasized the importance of the sacraments of the Church, particularly the necessity of receiving Holy Communion, regardless of how "unworthy" we may feel. He stressed that the sacraments, especially the Holy Gifts, are for the healing of both soul and body.

After the announcements, His Eminence offered words of encouragement to Priest Paul, the faithful of All Saints, and the community of St. Nicholas. A meal was held in the church hall following the service. May God grant His Eminence, The Most Reverend Mark, Archbishop of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, to Priest Paul and his family, to Priest Nathan and his family, and the faithful of All Saints and St. Nicholas, many years!

Glory to God for all things!
