Bishop MELCHISEDEK Makes Historic Visit • Jermyn

St. Michael the Archangel welcomes His Grace, Bishop MELCHISEDEK - 11/10/2013

On Sunday, November 10th, the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in Jermyn, Pennsylvania had the honor of hosting the locum Tenens of the Diocese, His Grace Bishop MELCHISEDEK for the Sunday Divine Liturgy. This was the first time Bishop MELCHISEDEK had visited the Church as a Bishop. Concelebrating the Divine Liturgy was the Rector Very Rev. John Kowalczyk (who in February of 2014 will celebrate 29 years as the Rector of the Parish.),was Archpriest Daniel Geeza, Protodeacon Gabriel Petorak, Sub-deacon Vasili Gardecki, Reader Vladimir Kituchra and the rest of the Church Altar Servers. The full choir under the direction of Professor Oleg Beljaeff was complemented for doing an outstanding job.
 
Following the historic Divine Liturgy, the celebration continued at St. Michael’s Center. Reader Bill Dubee sang "God Bless America" in honor of Veteran's Day on Monday.  120 members of the parish and guests were served a delicious buffet prepared by “Liuzzo’s Catering”. Liuzzo’s Catering have been hired for over two years by the Church and have become an integral part of the staff at St. Michael’s Center. It was a wonderful Day enjoyed by all.
