Last evening, on the Great Feast of the Elevation of the Cross, we were blessed with a visit by the Miraculous Myrrh-Streaming Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Holy Theotokos. Nearly 600 of our area's faithful -- Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike -- celebrated an Akathist service to the Mother of God. Those present prayed before this blessed icon and were anointed with the amazing aromatic liquid that flows from it. Father Nektarios spoke of the humble origin of this bargain-bin faded paper replica that was placed atop an office bookcase, only to be forgotten, and his journey to becoming the guardian of this precious healing relic of hope and faith after it made its presence known. She has traveled around the world offering the faithful a window into the glory that is God! A true miracle in our midst! Joyous Feast!
